Dear Friends,
I spoke to the Routt County health department at length today to get a feeling for our upcoming opening, scheduled for June 7. There’s not much new to report but the County Commissioners are meeting 6 days a week to develop protocols and guidelines.
As far as BMR ranch protocols are concerned I’ll go back to my last letter which basically says that we have always and will continue to follow all local, state and federal regulations.
We have always taken pride in keeping a clean and safe environment here at the ranch and that will never change.
Here’s a few things that we’ve been wondering about:
Housekeeping: We will be implementing stringent sanitizing guidelines using CDC recommended protocols and products. While we’ve always provided daily housekeeping with new linens mid-week, this year we will ask you the level of housekeeping you desire. Daily, sometimes, none…you tell us.
Dining: We have many options here depending on what the Government folks tell us. We could be able to offer multiple seatings, outside dining, meals delivered to your cabin. We will keep you posted as the necessary information becomes available. We will require the use of PPE to the full extent of the regulation.
Saloon: Not sure what the regulations will be but rest assured we will come up with something. We will have alcohol available!
Activities:
Rafting: The raft companies are also waiting to hear about specific regulations but it’s looking like fewer people in their shuttle vans and fewer people in boats. Remember that this year Black Mountain won’t be offering transportation so you’ll need to drive yourself.
Rodeo: There is no information yet but my feeling is they will probably cancel the rodeo this year.
Pack Camp: Again, uncertainty here but we will have it set up and ready to go before we open. We’ll update this as soon as we get some guidance.
Horseback riding: We’ve always promoted small private groups on rides so this won’t change!
On a final note:
We are the great outdoors. Come on, get outside, get on a horse and leave the world behind!
