Best of Week Seven: Sunshine & Rain

Black Mountain Ranch saw a full house again this past week. We had about 40 guests, with 9 returning. We had to deal with quite a lot of unpexptected weather this past week, from thunderstorms to hail, and then right on hot summertime conditions. Fortunately, the weather didn’t didn’t dampen our guest’s enthusiasm one bit! Best of Week Six: Summer is in Full Swing

We had just shy of 40 guests this week. The Pichettes, who have been coming to Black Mountain Ranch for over 10 years were back. Mr. Zimmer also returned with his daughter and mother. The Hunter’s also returned, and the weather throughout the week was absolutely incredible! The kids made good use of the new stand up paddle boards at Jake’s Lake. The Columbines were in a beautiful bloom in Hidden Meadow. Everyone was patriotic with red, white, and blue for the cattle drive on the Fourth of July.                 …

Best of Week Five: Roadtrip to Pick up New Horses

Week five at Black Mountain Ranch was again, a full house! We had 42 guests at the ranch again. Most importantly, we went on a road trip and picked up some great new horses for y’all to ride! Amy, our Head Wrangler and Nicola were sent to Missouri to go shopping for new horses. Yeehaw! They took Kyle to help with the driving, which was good as they had to battle through a flat tire on the way there, as well as some torrential rain on the Kansas/Missouri border. Best of Week Four: Full House

Almost a month into our summer season, we had a full house at the ranch. 41 guests stayed through the week most of them children. Apart from a little bit of rain on the way to the dinner ride at Jake’s Lake the weather was fabulous. Wednesday night provided an extraordinary double rainbow and a stunning sunset. Colorado nature at it’s best!   Special guests this week were the Voltin Family. Best of Week Three: Adults Only Week Was Tons of Fun!

Week three of the season brought us our last Adults Only week until late summer. We had a full house, and it was a hootin’ time. Such a great group of fun-loving adults, the week had plenty of riding and partying in the saloon. We are also proud to have hosted honeymooners Jack and Za, both soon-to-be doctors! The Best of Week Two: Summer Has Arrived!

The sun is out! We are so excited that we’ve been getting some good old summer sunshine at last. We had a small group this visit the past week, just over ten guests here at the ranch. Two of our guests were Bill and Eileen, 70-something lovebirds who got married just over a year ago! We also had Sarah from England come out for a visit, she was a mounted policewoman for many years. WANTED: Pack Camp Cook and Driver

An immediate opportunity to join the Black Mountain Ranch crew. You’ll be in charge of running our overnight pack camp trips, cooking dinner and breakfast for approx 20 people 2 nights a week. You’ll also drive our guests to the Steamboat Springs Rodeo on Friday nights and do guest pick ups and drop offs in Denver on Sundays. We need someone who is 21 or over, loves people and the outdoor life with a clean drivers license.
