This quote is the title of Alice Walkers's collected poems, "Horses make a landscape look more beautiful". Her inspiration was from a Native American shaman, who, when reflecting on the terrible problems brought to his land by white settlers, had it in his heart to nearly forgive them all because with white man came horses to the North American plains.
What does poetry have to do with a Colorado dude ranch? It is in our nature to seek beauty and as a working ranch, not only are we surrounded by such beauty as Rockies can only bring, but we see that beauty accented with the Horses that make our landscape.
