This past week at BMR was a great one. In addition to what normally happens, we had three Irishmen, who were fun-loving and totally hilarious. It was good to have guests who were from a different part of the world. There was a Shooting and Archery event against the Irishmen- and they lost. Because they lost, they had to dance on the bar Thursday night, which they did as they were told. There was also a wranglers versus guests Arena Game. It is nearing the end of summer, but that hasn't stopped us from doing what we love! What a season we have had with an amazing list of guests and staff. 2014 is one to remember. The manager of BMR from '93 to '99 passed away from ALS, so a whole group of people did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. It was even recorded on video, so you can watch it below! When you come up to Black Mountain Ranch, you don't have to just ride horses, although that's part of the experience. You can also work on archery, row canoes, and fish. Every day in the evenings, we let the horses out from where they're kept during the day into the free pasture where they spend the night. We often let our guests watch, and although it might be frightening because the horses are "free," the horses know exactly where to go, so they don't take any detours. Sometimes, the ...

Archery, pool, singing and playing a guitar all make for a great time at the ranch. The guests rode hoses through the hills, went lake swimming, and even listened to a cowboy play a guitar and harmonica, while one of the guests sang. There isn't only horseback riding at our ranch; there's dancing, swimming, and dining on cabin-cooked food. You can escape the hustle and bustle of city life by escaping to  mountain ranch.
