Hope everyone is doing well!
This week has been fun! We were prepping for this week at 16 guests and by Saturday afternoon had 22! Sometimes it works out that way and sometimes we’re capped out for the week ahead of time. It’s always interesting what weeks draw people and which ones seem to be more open.
I did a line dance class on Wednesday just for two people, Addi and her mom Angie, and they turned around and taught other guests the dances so Thursday night was so great to see! I was bar tending that night and stepped out to dance with them, it definitely brings me joy and some pride when people not only enjoy but get the dances and pass them on. It’s such a cool feeling.
We added extra lights in the arena and now it’s really lit up! Which means roping is happening before and after dinner and the music on Thursday nights is that much better.
One of our last minute guests were the Zimmers, they’ve been coming here for years and so we were stoked to see them back again. With Covid you never know who can show up or not, so this made more than a few of us happy. Alexei is turning into quite the rider and her dad is always fun to chat with. Last night was dinner ride and so everyone was up at Jake’s Lake for dinner, so Christian and I went into town to eat and when we got back there was a group of guests headed down hill, we learned that they were stargazing and looking for the comet that’s been passing by Earth. One of the families brought a telescope and everyone has made great friendships.
Right now everyone is out on cattle drive and tonight will be cocktail hour for Sunset Ponies, they managed to get all the cows into the arena for their health check and branding! Perfect. It’s always best when we are able to get them all rounded up, gotta make sure they’re all healthy and the babies are progressing well. For those wondering, branding only takes a few seconds and they just burn the hair off till it barely touches the skin, then they let em go! No real pain needed and now they’re safer with their brand so everyone knows whom they belong to.
So far we’ve been real good and happy with how the summer is turning out, no sicknesses or anything other than joy has been spread and we aim to keep it that way. As y’all place your trust in us to stay healthy and take care of you, we place our trust in you to take care of us. Everyone has been kind and respectful this season, which is what keeps us open - so thank you to all those who have already visited this year and to those who are on their way this summer, take care and we’ll be see ya soon!

PS: Awards went great last night! It's really so much fun to see everyong laughing and clapping and enjoying being awarded. Addi got Dancing Queen since she was so great at learning from the class I gave, she had even passed on the dance moves to other guests! Last night was bitter sweet and with a great sunset.
